How do I connect my own domain?

Open the Settings, go to Advanced and enter your domain in the Custom Domain section. Bookora immediately shows you two DNS records to add to your domain provider: one that proves the domain is yours and one that points it to us. You can add both at the same time. The domain only becomes truly active after both have passed — not just when you prove ownership.

Who can do this?

Only the owner of the organization can add, verify, or remove a custom domain. You also need the Pro plan — without it, the screen only shows you an upgrade invitation instead of the form. If needed, see how to upgrade to Pro.

If you are a team member and not the owner, you do not see the Settings at all — trying to open their address directly, Bookora sends you back to the calendar. Ask the owner to complete this step.

How do I add my domain?

Why do I need a TXT record?

The TXT record proves that the domain is indeed yours. Copy the Name (something like _bookora-verify) and the Value displayed on the screen and add them to your domain provider as a TXT type record. You can delete it later, once the domain becomes active.

What is the second record, the A or the CNAME?

• If your domain is the main one (e.g. mybusiness.gr), you need an A record with the name @.
• If it is a subdomain (e.g. booking.mybusiness.gr), you need a CNAME record with the name of the subdomain.

Add it to your domain provider, with exactly the value shown on the screen, along with the TXT.

After adding both records, click Run check.

How long will it take to activate?

DNS changes typically take from 5 minutes to 48 hours to propagate, depending on the provider. If the verification fails immediately after saving, wait a few minutes and try again — you do not need to rewrite anything.

When is the domain really active?

The screen does not say "active" just because you proved ownership — that is only the first step. The domain becomes truly active only after the A or CNAME record actually points to Bookora and the HTTPS certificate is ready. Until then, you will see one of these statuses:

• Waiting for the ownership record — the TXT has not been found yet.
• Waiting for DNS to point to us — ownership has been confirmed, the A/CNAME is missing.
• A conflicting DNS record is in the way — there is already a record pointing elsewhere.
• Domain isn't serving yet — the records do not match what we expect.

Only the status Domain is live means that visitors are actually seeing your website at this domain.

What do I do if the screen says there is a record conflict?

It means there is already a record in your DNS pointing somewhere else (e.g. to old hosting). The screen shows you exactly where it currently points. Delete it from your domain provider — do not leave it next to the new one — and click Run check again.

Where do I find the exact steps for my domain provider?

Below the records, open Instructions for your DNS provider and choose Papaki, Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, or "Other provider". The names vary slightly by provider, but they all have a "DNS" or "Zone editor" section where you add the records.
